How we compare
We're not going to pretend we're the only option, or the best one for everyone. Here's an honest look at Federal MVP Suite next to four tools you'll likely come across — including where they're genuinely ahead of us.
A note on how we built this page: every claim below comes from each company's own published pricing/feature
pages, or is explicitly marked "not published" when a company requires a sales call instead of listing a price. We didn't
guess any number, and we're not going to put words in a competitor's mouth.
At a glance
| Tool | Built for | Price | Proposal writing included? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Federal MVP Suite | Brand-new & very small businesses | Free – $449/mo, published | Yes (Capstat) |
| SAM.gov | Everyone (it's the government system of record) | Free | No |
| Deltek GovWin IQ | Established primes, mid-to-large BD teams | Not published (industry reports: thousands/yr per seat) | No |
| HigherGov | Small-to-mid contractors, researchers | Free tier; paid roughly $500–$5,000/yr (third-party estimate) | No |
| CLEATUS | Solo contractors through enterprise | $78–$250/mo published; automation tier is sales-led | Discovery + agents, not a Shipley-structured document |
Where we're genuinely stronger
- Nothing invented, anywhere in the pipeline. Our opportunity data comes only from named government sources — see our full source list. Our proposal builder doesn't paraphrase a guess into something that sounds plausible: a fact we don't actually have becomes a highlighted item for you to fill in, never invented text. We haven't found another tool in this space that makes an equally specific, public pledge about where its opportunity data comes from.
- One price, no sales call. GovWin IQ, and CLEATUS's top tier, require talking to a salesperson before you learn what you'd pay. Every Federal MVP Suite price is on our pricing page right now.
- Built for a business with no track record yet, not retrofitted for one. Litdesk's opportunity matching leans toward work that doesn't require bonding capacity you don't have yet — we haven't found this in any competitor's published scoring logic.
- One subscription covers discovery, proposal writing, and GSA pricing research together, at a price a solo operator can actually justify. The platforms that combine all three (CLEATUS's higher tiers and similar full-suite tools) are generally priced and sold for teams, not one person.
Where they're genuinely ahead of us
- Track record. We launched in October 2026. GovWin IQ, HigherGov, and CLEATUS have years of history, customers, and (for some) outside funding behind them. We don't have that yet — we're not going to pretend otherwise.
- State and local coverage. We currently read official feeds from Los Angeles, Austin, TxDOT, and New York City. CLEATUS and HigherGov both publish much broader state/local source counts. If your market is outside those four, we likely don't have your area's bids yet.
- Historical award and incumbent research. GovWin IQ and HigherGov let you look up who currently holds a contract and when it's up for recompete. We don't offer that depth of historical intelligence yet.
- SAM.gov itself is free, and it's the official system either way — you're never required to pay anyone, including us, to see or respond to a federal opportunity.
This page is about tradeoffs against named competitors. For the full list of what's actually built across all three apps, see everything included.
